"When I arrived in China, I realized China was completely different from what I had imagined," an Egyptian world traveler said.
NANCHANG, April 26 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian adventurer and world traveler Ahmed Haggagovic has visited 191 countries. One country in particular stands out: China.
"I can leave my bag at the train station, even though there are half a million people there. I think it's unlikely that someone will take it," he said. "China is a safe place for children, families, and females to walk on the street at night."
Known as "the king of travel," the 41-year-old world adventurer began his global travels in 2007. With 5.25 million fans on Facebook and 1.32 million followers on Instagram, the stakes are high to portray the world fairly and accurately.
"Seeing is believing. People like my videos because I film reality. They use my eyes and videos as if they themselves are traveling the world," he said.
"This is my 15th time visiting China, and each time I come, new things are happening. Over the past ten years, China has tremendously changed," Haggagovic said. With each visit, he pops into different cities to experience various regional cultures.
Walking through a clothing factory in Nanchang, an export-trade clothing company in east China's Jiangxi Province, Haggagovic carefully selects colors while touching the fabric with his hand. "I want to customize a batch of T-shirts for my social media and fans."
In 2010, Haggagovic traveled by train from Russia to China for the first time. "On the train, I saw Chinese people for the first time. They didn't speak English, and I didn't speak Chinese, but we shared some food."
"When I arrived in China, I realized China was completely different from what I had imagined," he said.
Haggagovic noted developments across China, citing astonishing changes in the country's infrastructure, technology, and urban landscapes.
"Recently, I posted the videos of drone delivery, high-speed trains, robots and self-driving cars in China. More and more people on social media tell me they want to visit China," said Haggagovic.
"As a traveler, I want to keep promoting China to the world."
