At least five people were reportedly injured when a UAV struck an apartment block in the Adygeya region
A Ukrainian drone struck an apartment block in southern Russia on Tuesday evening, local officials said.
The UAV caused a fire at a residential building and in a nearby parking lot in the village of Novaya Adygeya, Adygeya Region Governor Murat Kumpilov said on Telegram.
Video footage from the scene shows several vehicles engulfed in flames. No casualties have been reported.
News Telegram channels said eyewitnesses heard several loud explosions. Photos posted on social media show heavy damage to the apartment block's facade, with several balconies destroyed.
At least 12 apartments and around 20 vehicles were damaged, Telegram channels said.
The Russian Defense Ministry said earlier that 53 drones were intercepted on Tuesday evening, including seven over the Krasnodar region, which borders Adygeya.
