The attack targeted an industrial site in Izhevsk, the capital of Udmurtia region
A Ukrainian drone strike has caused fatalities and serious injuries at an industrial plant in the city of Izhevsk, located about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) east of Moscow, the regional governor said Tuesday.
The head of the Udmurt Republic, Aleksandr Brechalov, confirmed that the incident took place overnight but did not identify the site that was hit or provide a specific casualty toll.
Unconfirmed local media reports said at least three people were killed and more than a dozen others injured. Three of the wounded were reportedly in serious condition.
The attack ignited a fire at the facility, Brechalov said on social media, adding that firefighters were working to contain the blaze. He pledged to share additional details later in the day.
Kiev has continued its campaign of long-range strikes on Russian territory, launching nightly drone attacks. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that it intercepted 60 kamikaze drones overnight.
